Field staff in utes, supervisors on site, plans and photos flowing back to the office, Procore or Buildxact running across the team — and a site office on patchy 4G. We build IT setups for Townsville and NQ construction businesses that actually work in the real world: dust, heat, cyclones, drive-anywhere staff and all.
Construction businesses don't run on a single office network and a row of desks. You've got supervisors out at sites half the day, foremen running things from a ute, a project manager in the office juggling 6 jobs, photos and PDFs flying in from every direction, and a site office that may or may not have decent internet this week.
Generic IT support sets you up like an accounting firm and hopes for the best. We start from how the business actually runs — devices that survive heat, dust and being dropped; mobile data that works on remote NQ jobs; cloud storage that syncs photos back from site automatically; and security that won't fall over the first time a phishing email hits the foreman's inbox.
We're a local Townsville team. When the site office WiFi packs up before a Friday afternoon pour, we're already in the truck.
Book a Free Site IT Audit →Laptops, Toughbooks and iPads set up for the ute or the site office. Cellular-enabled where it makes sense. Remote support so issues get fixed without anyone driving back.
4G/5G routers, fixed wireless, NBN or Starlink — whichever combination actually delivers usable internet to your site.
SharePoint / OneDrive / Bluebeam setups so drawings and site photos sync back to the office without anyone emailing things around.
MFA, EDR, encrypted devices, secure email, staff training — at a level your insurer and bigger clients are happy with.
We're not the vendor for any of these — we're the team making sure they install, sync, and run properly across all your devices, and that staff can actually use them on site.
We don't claim formal partnerships with software vendors we don't have them with — but we've set up the IT side of these apps plenty of times and we'll happily liaise with vendor support when needed.
The bulk of construction IT happens away from a desk. Here's how we set field staff up so the gear actually survives and the work gets done.
Heavy-use field role — needs a real laptop, in a tough case, with mobile data.
Often iPad-first — quick photos, daily diaries, drawings on the go.
Real-world fitout — print, scan, work-from-anywhere capability.
Donga or container office with 1–6 staff for the life of the project.
Builders are increasingly being asked for cyber controls — by insurers, by Tier 1 clients, by government project contracts. Here's the baseline we build in.
We work at the level your business and your clients actually need — not over-engineered, not negligent. See our full cyber security page for detail.
National IT providers don't understand the realities of running a construction business out of Townsville. They don't know that cyclone season changes how you back up. They've never been to a project at Hidden Valley with no mobile coverage. They've never spec'd a setup that needs to survive a dusty Charters Towers summer.
We have. Our team lives here, works here, and supports construction businesses across Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, the Hinchinbrook and out to the mining services corridor. We know which carriers cover which sites, where Starlink is the only realistic answer, and which gear actually holds up in the heat.
When something goes wrong, we're not flying someone up. We're already here.
Get a Local Construction-IT Audit →Off-site backups, cloud-first apps where it makes sense, documented recovery — so a cyclone doesn't end the business.
We know which mobile carrier wins on which jobs — Telstra, Optus, Vodafone — and where Starlink is the only realistic answer.
Gear spec'd for heat, dust and humidity. UPS units sized for storm-season power flicker. No metro-thinking shortcuts.
If you work into mining services we understand the contractor cyber-security expectations and help you meet them without overspending.
Per-user managed plans — predictable monthly cost, no nasty surprises. Plans tailored to your office / field split.
| Plan | What's Included | Per User / Month |

| Plus | Standard + advanced email security, MDM (Intune), backups, phishing training | $149 |
| Pro | Plus + 24/7 critical cover, enhanced cyber controls, quarterly reviews | $199 |
| Pro+ (regulated / Tier 1 client) | Pro + Essential Eight uplift program + reporting | $249 |

Field-only users (foremen, leading hands on iPads) can sometimes be priced lighter. Initial audit is free — we'll match plan to your actual mix of office and site staff.
Audit, plan, implement, support — no chaos in the transition, no disruption to live jobs.
On-site or remote — we look at your current devices, network, M365, backups, security and site setups. Honest report on what's good, what's risky and what could save money.
Written plan: monthly support plan, any project work (site office, server, M365 cleanup, security uplift), realistic timeline. Fixed monthly + fixed project pricing.
Staged rollout around live projects. After-hours cutovers where needed. Old IT provider transition handled carefully if you're switching. Site staff trained on how to log support tickets.
Day-to-day support via phone, portal, email. Proactive patching, backups, security. Regular reviews so the IT keeps pace with the business — new sites, new staff, new clients.
Local NQ team, construction-aware setups, no jargon, no metro-thinking, no lock-in contracts.
On-site when you need us. We know the carriers, the suburbs, the site office norms, the cyclone season realities. No call centre in Sydney.
We design IT around how supervisors, foremen and project managers actually work — not around a row of desks.
Procore, Buildxact, Cubit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MYOB Construction — we've set up the IT around all of them and will happily liaise with vendor support.
If your clients ask for cyber evidence, we'll get you there — Essential Eight uplift, MFA, EDR, backups, documented controls.
Per-user plans. You know what IT costs each month. Project work is quoted separately so you're never surprised.
Month-to-month or short-term agreements. We earn the work each month, we don't trap you in a 3-year deal.
The wider toolkit we bring to a construction business.
Townsville suburbs plus out to Burdekin, Charters Towers, the Hinchinbrook and the mining services corridor.
Quick answers to what Townsville builders and construction owners ask before switching IT providers.
Residential builders, commercial builders, civil contractors, project home companies, trades-led construction businesses (electrical, plumbing, concreting at scale), shopfitters and small developers. Anyone in NQ running a construction business with field staff, site offices and a real back-office — typically 5–50 staff.
Yes. We're not the vendor for those products, but we look after the IT around them — Windows / Mac setup, M365 integration, file sync, user accounts, device setup so they work properly on field laptops and tablets, plus liaison with the software vendor's support team when needed. If you've got Procore, Buildxact, Cubit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MYOB Construction or similar, we can support the IT side.
Absolutely — that's the bulk of construction IT. We set up rugged laptops or Toughbooks for site supervisors, iPads for foremen and project managers, mobile 4G/5G hotspots, M365 with proper mobile sync so site photos and notes flow back to the office automatically, and remote support so we can fix issues without anyone driving back into town.
Reality of NQ construction. We deploy mobile broadband routers (Cradlepoint, Teltonika, Netgear Nighthawk) with a SIM from whichever carrier has the best coverage on that site, plus failover where it matters. For longer-term site offices we'll also look at Starlink for remote NQ jobs where mobile coverage is genuinely poor.
It depends on who you work for. If you're a builder doing private residential work, the bar is sensible business cyber security — MFA, EDR, backups, secure email, staff training. If you do work for government, defence, mining or larger commercial clients you'll often be asked for evidence of cyber controls or even an Essential Eight maturity statement before contracts. We'll meet you where you are and lift the level as your client requirements grow.
Per-user managed IT plans start at $99/user/month for our standard plan and go up to around $249/user/month for plans with more security and proactive coverage. Most construction clients land in the middle — full managed support, backups, security baseline, M365, and a real local team to call when something breaks. Field-only users are sometimes priced differently — we tailor a quote to your mix of office and site staff.
Yes — common with construction businesses. Often there's someone internal who handles day-to-day fixes and we're brought in for the harder stuff: server / M365 design, cyber security, after-hours coverage, project rollouts (new sites, new staff intakes), and as a second pair of hands when something serious breaks. Happy to work as a partner rather than replacing your internal person.
One walkthrough — your office, your site setups, your devices, your security. Honest report and a no-pressure quote. Local Townsville team.
